Orchard now offers COVID-19 PCR testing

For approved insurance plans, Orchard is now able to provide COVID-19 PCR testing in our back parking lot for patients experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. A telehealth visit will be required for all patients scheduled for testing.

Please Note:  Our PCR testing also includes swabbing for RSV, Flu A and Flu B at the same time. For more information on our testing, click here.

Due to supply back orders, we are not able to provide testing to anyone for leisure purposes (travel, event attendance, return to work after recreational activities, etc.).

CDC Expands Eligibility for COVID-19 Booster Shots

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has released its recommendation for a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccines in certain population.

IL Residents - Vax Verify Portal

Illinois residents 18 years and older can now check their COVID-19 vaccination records online through Vax Verify immunization portal. Immunizations records are kept confidential and only the individual can access their vaccination history. To learn more, please visit the Illinois Department of Public Health website.

OMC Continued Mask Policy

For the health and safety of all of our patients, Orchard Medical Center, S.C. will continue to require face masks to be worn at all times. This includes those who are fully vaccinated.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

We will continue to take every precaution necessary for the safety of our community. This includes screening for COVID-19 at the door, taking temperatures and providing hand sanitizer for those entering the building.

Orchard Medical Center's COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic  

Orchard Medical Center, S.C. anticipates being able to vaccinate established patients age 65 and older in the upcoming weeks. Vaccine supply is still limited and we are not always sure when we will receive shipment.

In the meantime, Please make sure we have your email address on file if you'd like to receive an invitation to schedule your COVID-19 Vaccine appointment when it becomes available to us.

WE WILL NOT BE SCHEDULING COVID-19 VACCINE APPOINTMENT OVER THE PHONE.

COVID-19 Vaccines will NOT be given during regular business hours. COVID-19 vaccines will ONLY be administered during our set COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic hours.

Orchard Medical Center will only be vaccinating established patients.

Advocate Aurora Patient Access to the COVID-19 Vaccine 

Advocate Aurora Health has started vaccinating current patients age 65 and older based on risk factors and available vaccine supply. They are contacting patients by email, text and phone when vaccine appointments become available.

You are considered a current patient if you've been seen by an Advocate Aurora provider, filled a prescription with an Advocate Aurora pharmacy or have been treated at an Advocate Aurora facility in the past 2 years. If you have an upcoming appointment in the next 3 months you are also considered a current patient.

COVID-19 Vaccine - Leading By Example 

Dr. Devaney and Dr. Abderholden are the first members of Orchard Medical Center, S.C. to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The remaining providers and members of our healthcare team are planning to get theirs in the upcoming weeks as it continues to become available.

We do not have any current plans to administer the COVID-19 vaccine in our office but will keep our patients informed if it does become available. In the meantime, we encourage our patients to register for the Lake County Health Department's AllVax Portal to be notififed when you can schedule an appointment to receive your vaccine.

COVID-19 Vaccine - Lake County AllVax Portal 

The Lake County Health Department has opened the AllVax Portal for Lake Country residents to register to be notified when the COVID-19 vaccine is available. Once registered and the vaccine becomes available, residents will have the ability to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine. 

The doctors at Orchard Medical Center, S.C. recommend patients complete the registration for themselves and any household family members.

CDC Options to Reduce Quarantine Guidance 

The CDC issued new options for a shortened quarantine for those who have had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 but have no symptoms. The CDC made clear that a 14-day quarantine is still best practice.

At this time, the Lake County Health Department and the physicians at Orchard Medical Center, S.C. continue to recommend a full 14-day quarantine for those who are exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Orchard Medical Center is aware of the COVID 19 virus and is making every effort to identify it in our community AND keep all of our patients and staff safe .  

Therefore, we are asking anyone who has is concerned that they may have the virus or been exposed to the virus CALL us  BEFORE attempting to come into our office.

This will allow us the opportunity to better direct your care and keep other patients and staff safe. As a safety precaution to our patients and to our staff,  we are NOT taking walk-ins.

We are taking every precaution to avoid spreading illness unnecessarily by segregating those who may feel ill from the ones who are continuing to follow up on their regular health care needs. We will continue to reinforce strong infection prevention methods by disinfecting rigorously throughout the day and have a protocol in place to reduce any possible exposures.

Orchard Medical Center will continue to follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Public Health Department's recommendations as things continue to progress.
